TEACHx, Northwestern’s annual celebration of teaching and learning through technology, returns in an all-virtual format May 11-13, 2021. This year’s symposium will include a mix of on-demand and live options, offering a range of opportunities for participants to get the most out of TEACHx with whatever time they have available. This year’s theme is Connections — connections to students, connections to fellow instructors, and connections to a passion for teaching. Presentations will showcase experiments, celebrate successes, and deepen the discourse around how lessons learned through last year’s necessary pivots and adaptations can propel us forward to new possibilities in the future.
A keynote address by Jasmine Roberts, Strategic Communication Lecturer at The Ohio State University, will kick off TEACHx at 10 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, May 11, by calling on us all to center a human-first approach in pedagogy and to consider ways to imbue the processes, procedures, and traditions of higher education with radical empathy.
