Over the past few months, the Teaching & Learning Technologies team has worked to respond to the changing needs of our instructors and students. In addition to updating the Canvas Learning Center with more resources tailored to teaching in online environments, we’ve added a sister site, the Zoom Learning Center. We’ve also increased the frequency and breadth of our workshop offerings. We’re pleased to announce two additional resources now available to you: Tools Fair Videos and Panopto On-Demand Training.
Tools Fair Videos
In July 2020, faculty and staff from around Northwestern came together to share insights and experiences using a variety of educational technology tools. Panopto On-Demand Training
Panopto is a video capture and management tool available in all Canvas course sites. Instructors and students can use it to record video presentations that may include webcam, audio, screen-sharing, and PowerPoint presentation streams. Additionally, Panopto can be used to add in-video quizzing. While we offer workshops for Panopto training, we recognize the need for training that you can access when it’s most convenient for you. To that end, we have created a set of videos and guided instructions that walk you through adding Panopto to your courses, creating and editing videos, and adding a quiz to a video. Whether the workshops don’t fit your schedule or you prefer to learn at your own pace, access the Panopto Training page to begin your Panopto training.
This training is accessible to all faculty, staff, and students at Northwestern. If you are an instructor planning on having students submit video assignments, provide them with the links on how to record and edit in Panopto.
