In February and March, Teaching & Learning Technologies will be offering several opportunities for instructors to learn more about Crowdmark, a collaborative grading software in use at Northwestern.
Crowdmark Basics
Crowdmark is a collaborative online grading software optimal for medium and large classes with exams that require work by hand and/or multiple graders. Some favorite instructor features include:
- Easily grade all of the student responses to any specific question without shuffling through papers.
- Create comment libraries that multiple graders can access. When a grader notices patterns of mistakes in student work they can create detailed and helpful comments for all graders to insert, thus providing valuable feedback to students.
- Grading comments can have associated point values, which, when edited dynamically update across all graded questions and automatically update scores.
- During the grading process, lead instructors can check in real time to see if your graders are using the rubric and providing adequate feedback, which is especially helpful for developing the skills of first-time teaching assistants.
Crowdmark is available to all Northwestern faculty during the 2020-2021 academic year. Instructors can access Crowdmark with Canvas integration using this link: https://app.crowdmark.com/sign-in/northwestern.
